Trading Terms And Conditions

Last updated: 01/10/2025

Burhouse Limited is a wholesale (trade) supplier, offering products at trade prices for businesses, jewellery makers, and resellers.

To place an order, all customers are required to create a web account. This allows us to process orders correctly under our trade pricing structure.

If you are a retail (non-trade) customer, please note:

  • Our pricing and service are designed for trade use
  • Consumer retail regulations (including cancellation rights) do not apply in the same way
  • You are welcome to purchase; however, all orders are supplied under these trade terms

By creating an account and placing an order, you acknowledge and accept that your purchase is made under these Trade Terms & Conditions.

1. Account Types

Website Customers

Website Customers are customers who register for a web account in order to place orders through our website.

All website orders are supplied at wholesale (ex VAT) pricing and are processed under these Trade Terms & Conditions.

By creating an account and placing an order, customers acknowledge and accept that purchases are made under trade terms rather than consumer retail regulations.

2. Pricing and VAT

  • All prices are quoted ex VAT. VAT is added at the current UK rate at checkout or invoicing stage.
  • Prices are subject to change without notice.
  • Trade Members may qualify for additional bulk or annual spend discounts as communicated by Burhouse Limited.

3. Orders and Payment

  • Orders can be placed online or through our sales office.
  • Payment is required at the time of order unless agreed otherwise in writing.
  • Credit terms (if applicable) are subject to approval and review.
  • Orders cannot be amended once processed.

4. Delivery and Inspection

  • Goods must be checked on delivery.
  • Any shortages, errors or visible defects must be reported within 14 days of receipt.
  • After this period, we cannot accept claims or returns relating to delivery or condition.
  • We will deliver goods to the address provided at the time of order. The customer is responsible for ensuring that all delivery details are accurate and complete. Burhouse Limited shall not be liable for any loss, delay, or misdelivery of orders arising from incorrect or incomplete address information supplied by the customer.
  • Risk passes to the buyer upon delivery.

5. Returns and Guarantees

Manufacturing Faults

  • All products are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects at the point of supply.
  • Once goods have been sold on, worn, or used, we cannot accept returns for breakages, wear and tear, accidental damage or customer misuse.
  • If a repeat issue suggests a potential manufacturing fault within a product line, Burhouse Limited will investigate and arrange a suitable resolution if confirmed.

Returns Authorisation

  • Returns are accepted by prior agreement only.
  • Please contact us before sending any items back; unauthorised returns may be refused or returned to sender at the buyer’s cost.
  • Returned goods must be in their original packaging and condition with returns note, within 30 days.
  • On receipt, all returned goods will be inspected and checked back into stock before a refund or credit is processed.
  • Refunds are usually completed within 5–7 working days, but please allow up to 14 days during busy periods or for complex returns.

Return Postage and Refunds

  • Return postage is the buyer’s responsibility, unless a manufacturing fault is verified upon inspection.
  • Where a manufacturing fault is confirmed, reasonable return postage for the affected item(s) will be reimbursed and a replacement, credit, or refund issued as appropriate.

6. Exclusions

The following are not classed as manufacturing faults:

  • Normal wear and tear, tarnishing or plating wear.
  • Damage caused by chemicals, cosmetics or cleaning products.
  • Breakages caused by pulling, catching, or accidental impact.

7. Cooling-Off Period and Consumer Law

All website orders are sold at wholesale prices (ex VAT) for business use or resale.
By creating an account or placing an order, you confirm that you are purchasing as a business, not as a consumer.
As such, consumer law and cooling-off rights do not apply to any trade purchases.

8. Liability

  • Burhouse Limited shall not be liable for any consequential loss, business interruption, or indirect damages resulting from the use or resale of supplied goods.
  • Our total liability in respect of any order shall not exceed the invoice value of the goods concerned.
